| NGO to create health awareness launched | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 29 A non-governmental organization to create awareness among people about national health programmes was launched at Bhadarwah in Doda district yesterday. The NGO named as G. R. Azad school of health education would interalia organize seminars, symposia, workshops and interactions with the people especially school children to generate greater awareness among masses about health, hygiene, nutrition, AIDS prevention as well as against water borne diseases and other ailments in the rural areas. President Municipal Committee Bhadarwah Mr. Javed Azad was the chief guest at the function while Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bhadarwah Mr. P. K. Pole inaugurated it. Azad and Mr. Pole speaking on the occasion stressed that the volunteers of this school should work with a missionary zeal to make the people aware about health programmes so that they could optimally benefit from these. President of the health school Dr. Liaqat Ali Magray dwelt on the aims and objects of the school with specific reference to national health programmes and their importance for ruralites. Among those who also addressed the function included chairman of the health school Mr. Des Raj Manhas. |
