| PDP to replace NC: Mahajan | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 29 “Based on its unambiguous stand and performance during three years of governance, PDP shall replace National Conference in the forth coming Assembly elections.” This was stated by PDP Vice President Ved Mahajan while addressing workers convention at Rajouri. He said that in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri, PDP will contest all assembly seven seats and seek support of the public on the basis of its work and performance. Referring to various landmarks like Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Mughal Road, degree colleges and tehsils, he urged the cadre to proudly reach out to the masses with the message of PDP. Those who have been exploiting the people of this region and are responsible for keeping the people backward and underdeveloped must get a befitting response. Speaking on the occasion, PDP General Secretary Murtaza Khan emphasized the need to educate, employ and empower the youth who, he said, are major constituent of State’s population. He urged the young people to come forward and actively participate in politics to make the system more vibrant and meaningful. Referring to the PDP’s youth policy recently adopted by the Party few weeks ago, Khan said that his party have a comprehensive program for the youth of the State in terms of their education system which can cater to the needs of employment market. Senior PDP leader Master Tassadaq Hussain who organized the meeting exhorted the workers to gear up for the upcoming polls. Others who addressed the convention included, Shafi Dar Sharif Tariq, PDP District President Zulfiqar Chaudhary, Shabbir Mirza, Sajjad Tariq, Abdul Khaliq, Nirman Singh, Sayeed Raina, Chand Mohd and a number of workers who left National Conference to join PDP. |
