Srinagar | Dec 30
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and legislator Mohammad Sartaj Madni has said the people in the State are witnessing a refreshing and relaxed security environment today and this transformation started taking shape after 2002 elections.
Addressing public gatherings at various places during his two-day extensive tour of Devsar constituency, Madni said the primary agenda of the PDP-led Coalition Government in 2002 was to ensure security of life and upholding dignity of the people. "It is a matter of great satisfaction for PDP that people across the length and breadth of the State today acknowledge the changed post-2002 security scenario that has brought much-desired relief to them," he said and added the changing security scenario in the State has now also changed the people's outlook towards the polity.
Madni said while in pre-2002 era the main concern of the people was the security of their life, honor and property, today the focus has shifted to developmental deficit and the public has started demanding all kinds of facilities from good roads to safe drinking water and quality education and healthcare infrastructure. With the enormous development going on all around, the expectations of the people have also grown manifold and they are now seeking their due share in development, he added..
During his tour, the PDP leader took stock of the development works in the area and people at various places drew his attention towards the problems confronting them. They complained of non-availability of essential commodities at various places in the area.
