| Students return from educational tour | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 30 A tour of 30 school children belonging to school of remote areas of Reasi and Rajouri districts was flagged in today after an eventful, educative and memorable two weeks tour to Ahmednagar, Pune and Mumbai. The tour was undertaken as part of operation Sadbhavana. The purpose of the tour to give school children into the rich and varied heritage of India. The tour a great deal of awareness amongst the children, about the cultural, regional and religious diversity alongside the unique harmony that binds this great nation. During the tour the children visited important defence institutes like Naitonal defence academy, Indian Naval Ship Vakrant (Naval Museum) and got an opportunity to see tanks and other equipment. The students were also visited national film institute, Pune University and Nehru Planetarium. Most of the children interacting, expressed their gratitude for an educative and enlightening tour. They were all proud to be Indians. The children wanted more of such tours to be undertaken. The civil dignitaries present on the occasion expressed their gratitude to the army for providing school children with such a wonderful opportunity. |
