| Sarkari academy ‘Rocks Jammu’ | | Organizes cultural programme Enter-2008 | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 30 In a bid to attract young audience. The Jammu and Kashmir academy of Art, Culture and Language (JKAACL), by changing its norms to some extent rocks the audience of Jammu by organizing cultural bonanza ‘Enter-2008’ at Abhinav theatre here today, on completion of its fifty years. Earlier, while welcoming the jam packed hall with audience the Secretary cultural academy Rafeeq Masoodi said that as the majority of youths has been westernized by the media and the state feel cut off from the regional and cultural identity. In order to be shape the youth of state in positive way and polish their talent and energy, the JKAACL has organized enter-2008, especially for youth, so that the gap between the youth and the advanced cultural identity should be decreased to some extent, be said. On this occasion various artists belonging to different dance groups of Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua and other states including, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal enthralled the audience. The dance groups who performed include: Paradise rockers, friends dancing institute, Jackson Dancing institute, youngster dancing institute, unique dancing group, love birds school, Gurukul institute of dance, Dhook Talent Club (Udhampur), Rang Bhoomi Magic Star (Kathua), Govt. Medical College, Tushar dancing Group (Jammu), Govt boys Hr. Sec. school Nowshera and Avtar dancing group Jammu. While speaking on the occasion, the Chief guest of the function, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat, Jugal Kishore Sharma praised the artists, who performed during the function. He also appreciated the efforts being made by the JKAACL for organizing such type of events in Jammu for the first time through which the youth of the present time stage their talent and energy in a right manner. The attraction of the function was Kanchan Joshi a nationally renowned theatre artist, dancer and Anchor from Mirinda (Punjab), who anchored the programme her melodious voice and own style. |
