| City police seizes 52 gas cylinders | | | Early Times Reporter

To check the deficiency and theft of gas cylinders, the city sub division police today seized about 52 gas cylinders in different parts of the City which were being illegally used in the business establishments. According to reports city police had received several complaints of gas cylinders thefts and today the police party led by DSP City Swantatra Arora conducted surprise raids in different areas of the city during which police seized about 52 domestic gas cylinders that were illegally being used in the shops. Sources said the shopkeepers had purchased these cylinders from unauthorized persons and the thieves without any cash voucher. Police took all the cylinders to the police station for further verification. Sources said it was suspected that the seized cylinders were stolen property and police is investigating the matter.
Sources said this is for the first time when police seized large quantity of cylinders that were being used with out proper documents by the shopkeepers of the city. Police had also registered various cylinder theft cases following which today’s raids were conducted. |
