| Canada wants peaceful solution to ‘K’ issue | | | Toronto | Dec 2 Canada takes the issue of a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue very seriously and its views are conveyed to the proper authorities regularly, stated Canada’s Foreign Minister Maxime Bernier. In a communication to Mushtaq A Jeelani, Executive Director of the Kashmiri-Canadian Council (KCC), Minster of Foreign Affairs Canada says: “Canada takes the issue of a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Jammu and Kashmir very seriously and continues to encourage the governments of India and Pakistan to move forward with the ongoing Composite Dialogue process.” He added, “Canada also engages in dialogue with like-minded partners to promote sustainable peace in South Asia, including with the members of the G8.” The High Commission Canada to India, in New Delhi regularly holds consultations with national and state-level human rights commissions to raise issues related to HR Violations.” |
