| Alleging discrepancies, Khajuria seeks AEs’ list withdrawal | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 1 Charging State Public Service Commission (PSC) of being hand-in-glove with the Kashmir-centric leadership of the State and harming the interests of the Jammu youth, State BJP chief Ashok Khajuira has demanded immediate withdrawal of this selection list of Assistant Engineers (Civil) in the Public Works (R&B) recommended by the PSC. Khajuria said, “This is not an exaggeration and the fact can be seen from the just released said list.’ Accusing the Congress-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir a shadow of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre set to appease the followers of one particular religion and exclude the non-Muslims from the vital service sector, said BJP State President Ashok Khajuria. State president said this while commenting on the list of the selected candidates for the posts of Assistant Engineers (Civil) in the Public works (R&B) Department headed by none other than Gulchain Singh Charak, who claims that he belongs to Jammu. The list has invited ire from the some quarters which point out that this list had made to appease a particular community only. Ridiculing the claim of the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad that his government treats all the regions and all the communities equally, Ashok Khajuria debunked his claim saying that only 16 non-Muslim candidates have been selected out of a total of 60 candidates under Open Category. He said this means that while the share of the non-Muslims in the selection list is just 26.66 per cent, the percentage of those selected from the majority Community is 73.33 Further going in deeper details related to candidates selected under RBA and ALC categories, Khajuria said that while only 3 non-Muslim candidates have been selected under both these categories, the number of candidates belonging to the majority community and selected is 24. ‘That means the share of non-Muslims is just 11.11 per cent as against 88.88 per cent of the majority community, he added. |
