State Medical Council meets

The 2nd meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council held at Jammu yesterday was presided over by Dr. Ashok Parihar, President Jammu and Kashmir State Medical Council. The meeting was attended by all the members of the council
The Council among other things observed that doctors are not writing their registration numbers in the prescriptions which has been viewed seriously by the Council. It has been decided to make it mandatory for all the doctors to mention registration number on their prescription which will be in force from March 01, 2008 . Strict action will be taken against the doctors registered with the Council found involved in criminal acts, the meeting decided.
It was also decided that Drug Control Organization will be requested to take action against those chemists and druggists who are dispensing or selling drugs on the prescription slips not mentioning registration numbers.
