| Two cops held for ‘anti-social’ activities | | | Jammu - The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two of its men involved in ‘anti-social activities’ as part of its campaign to weed out bad apples from the force.
According to police, a selection grade constable, Ishtiaq Khan, posted at a hospital was arrested when he attempted to harass a Bihari woman working as a labourer in Handwara, a north Kashmir town, late Tuesday night.
Almost at the same time, constable Fazal-ur-Rehman, who was impersonating as a senior police officer and harassing people and extorting money was arrested from the south Kashmir town of Qazigund.
The police said that this is to send a clear warning and message to the policemen indulging in ‘anti-social activities’ that their acts are under scanner and they can be booked for their crimes.
‘No one is above law,’ Haseeb Mughal, Superintendent of Police, Handwara, said.
