| Karra hails JK Bank for ‘preserving’ Kashmiri culture | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Jan 1 Minister for finance Tariq Hameed Karra Monday hailed the attempt by the Jammu and Kashmir Bank for ‘preserving and promoting’ the Kashmiri art, culture and heritage. Speaking at a function organised to release the Bank’s New Year calendar at its corporate head quarters, the finance minister said the Bank was playing a significant role in the revival of the Kashmiri culture. “The Bank has promoted the places of religious and historical importance through its New Year Calendars which were present in every Kashmiri home,” the minister said, adding that calendars were an important means of communication with the people of Kashmir. The 2008 calendar titled “Kashmir Everywhere” depicts the Kashmiri home grown entrepreneurs and businessmen working across the length and breadth of India. The minister said that the bank by putting them on its calendars was not only promoting the persons involved in the art, but also the art and craft. |
