| Confusion follows cabinet expansion | | | Early Times Reporter

Though uncertainty prevailing in the political corridors were laid to rest as chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad reshuffled his cabinet, here today, confusion followed the official notification as around six junior ministers were shown to have been given common portfolios.
The official communiqué issued here today, revealed that Aijaz Ahmed Khan has been given the portfolio of MoS finance, planning, rural development, Panchayat and revenue. However, at the same time the rural development has also been shown to be the portfolio of MoS Javaid Mustafa Mir.
Similarly, MoS CA&PD has been shown as GM Saroori, while same portfolio has been allotted to Manjeet Singh as junior minister.
The notification said that Garu Ram has been given the charge of MoS R&B, while it also shows Khalil Band to be MoS R&B.
The notification issued, this evening, only led to the confusion among the media circles as officials were not in a position to clarify the stand. "We have issued the communiqué as has been directed to us", an officer of state information department said, on the condition of anonymity.
Observers told News Agency of Kashmir that the chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad can not allot one department to more than one person. They attributed the confusion to the officials responsible for distribution of notification among the media persons. |
