| Police solves burglary case; 72 year old among 3 arrested | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Jan 2 Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have solved a burglary case and arrested three persons including a seventy-two year old in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in South Kashmir. Police said that the burglars had reportedly decamped with more than 34 expensive watches from a shop in the town on November 14, an official spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir. Quoting SSP Anantnag, Abdul Gani Mir, the spokesman said that during a burglary took place in a watch shop at Bijbehara, wherein the burglars decamped with 34 expensive watches valuing in thousands of rupees without leaving a clue. Police registered a case and investigations were entrusted upon SHO Bijbehara Inspector Bashir Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Shafaat Hussian, he added. Police, he said, finally arrested a seventy-two year old villager Dilawar Sheikh son of Ahad Sheikh, resident of Reshipora Pulwama, who during the questioning confessed that he along with two other persons committed the burglary. On his disclosure, police arrested two more accused Mohammad Abdullah Wagay son of Sonaullah Wagay of Chandpora Kanilwan Bijbehara and Mohammad Maqbool Sheikh son of Abdullah Sheikh of Hapshirmal Pulwama. He said that during questioning all the accused have accepted their guilt and disclosed their involvement in the burglary. The stolen property was also recovered from the possession of the accused, the spokesman said. |
