| BSF official among three injured in grenade blast | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Jan 2 A Border Security Force (BSF) personal and two pedestrians were injured when militants lobbed a hand grenade on a security bunker in Bandipora area of Reports reaching here revealed that unidentified militants tossed a hand grenade towards a BSF bunker at Gulshan Chowk Bandipore, this afternoon. The grenade reportedly exploded outside the bunker injuring three persons including a jawan. Police identified the injured as Muhammad Iqbal, son of Jan Mohammad, resident of Tragpora Baramulla, Mohammad Maqbool Tantray, son of Ghulam Qadir Tantray, resident of Kralpora Bandipore and Constable Rakesh Kumar of 122 Bn BSF. Panic gripped the area as people started running for safety. Shopkeepers down their shutter soon after the blast and a large number of people assembled at the hospital. Security forces and police immediately rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Searches were carried to nab the militants, but no arrest was made, till last report came in. |
