| T-20 Cricket: 5-wkt win for MMCC | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 3 Madan Mohan Cricket Club (MMCC) today registered an impressive five wickets victory over Kiwi Cricket Club (KCC) to advance into the second round of T-20 cricket tournament underway at Parade ground, here. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, KCC lost all their wickets for 104 runs in 17 overs of the 40 overs match, which, in reply, MMCC chased in the last 20th over with five wickets in hand. Munish Chib, who opened the KCC innings remained the top scorer with 31-ball 34 runs studded with eight boundaries. Sehdev (14) and Madan (15) were other two batsmen contributing in double figure. Shashi was most successful bowler from MMCC with three for nine in four overs while Ashwani Gupta, Vikram and Madan Mohan shared a piece each. Batting second, MMCC made a dismal start losing the openers cheaply but sensible batting by Akshay Khajuria (34, 5x4) brought the team’s score close to the target. Shashi (16), Deepak (10) and Vikram (13) also made valuable contributions. Extras added 26 runs to the total. Sourab Chopra, Sahil Balwal, Sanjay, Sachin and Bakshi bagged one wicket each from KCC.
