| CB presents challen against Tehsildar, Ors in land grabbing case | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 3 The Crime Branch today presented a charge sheet against three revenue officials including a Tehsildar and several others for fraudulently mutating private land in favour of some interested persons The spokesman of the Crime Branch said that on a complaint of Abdul Rehman son of Abdul Khalik Bhat of Gupkar road Srinagar stating therein that one Wali Mohammed Malik son of Lasi Malik of Peerbagh Hyderpora in connivance with revenue department employees has transferred some land owned by the complainant and others situated at Rawalpora by way of forgery. On receipt of the complaint, he said, a formal case was registered for detailed investigation. During the investigation it emerged that accused persons in connivance with revenue officers/officials hatched a criminal conspiracy and fraudulently mutated land owned and possessed Abdul Rehman son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat of Gupkar road Srinagar by forging signatures of actual land owner. On the basis of investigation, he said, prima-facie case of cheating was established against the accused namely Bashir Ahmed Naqashbandi, the then Tehsildar, Mohammed Shaban Gani, the then Girdawar, Rawalpora, Mohammed Sultan Sfofi of Krumshara Badgam. Ghulam Mohammed Ganai, the then Patwari, Rawalpora, Wali Mohammed Malik of Peerbagh and Ghulam Nabi Matoo Nursinghghar Srinagar. The spokesman further said that Crime Branch also presented a charge sheet against Hamid Bhat son of Nabir Bhat of Brain Nishat who impersonated himself on behalf of Samad Bhat for effecting registration of a chunk of land owned and possessed by Abdul Rehman son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat resident of Brain Nishat. A spokesman of the Crime and Railways said that on a complaint forwarded by the 2nd Munsif alleging therein that one Abdul Hamid Bhat son of Nabir Bhat resident of Brain Nishat impersonated himself on behalf of Samad Bhat for effecting registration of a chunk of land in the Court. Smelling something fishy, the Judge asked for identify card from the above mentioned person who replied that he was not carrying the same with him and finally his identity was ascertained by the Judge through a lawyer identifying him as Abdul Hamid instead of Samad Mir. The matter was initially investigated by the Police station Maisuma, but later on referred to Crime Branch for detailed investigation, the spokesman added. He said during the course of investigation relevant records pertaining to the case were seized and persons acquainted with the facts and the circumstances examined. On the basis of circumstances/evidence available on record the investigation of the case was closed and challan against the alleged accused three persons including Abdul Majid Mir son of Mohammed Rajab and Abdul Gani Akhoon son of Ghulam Ahmed and Mohammed Rajab Reshi son of Ghulam Ahmed of Brain Nishat was produced before the court of law for judicial determination. |
