Hearing in Rubiya Syed kidnapping case adjourned

The Rubiya Syed kidnapping case, which was listed for today for hearing, was adjourned due to the strike by the Advocates.
The alleged accused in the kidnapping case namely Mohd Yaseen Malik Supremo JKLF, Showkat Ahmed Bakshi, Ali Mohd Mir, Javid Mir alias Nalka, Mehraj-ud-Din Sheikh, Mohd Iqbal Gandroo, Mohd Zaman Mir and Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bitta-Karate were present in the court whereas Mohd Yaqoob Pandit, Wajahat Bashir Qureshi, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi and Mohd Rafiq alias Nanaji was absent and on their behalf application for exemption was filed in the Court of TADA/POTA which was granted by the Court.
Today all the cases including one lakh US Dollar were listed for hearing but due to strike of Advocates, the court adjourned all the cases.
According to the cases the most important case of that time was kidnapping of Dr. Rubiya Syed d/o the then Home Minister of India Mufti Mohd Syed while going to hospital in the month of December 1989 was kidnapped by the accused persons including JKLF supreme and released after the demand considered by the Government and released five hardcore militants of JKLF. The other case in which five Air-Force Officials were killed at Batmaloo Srinagar on January, 1990, both the cases were investigated by the Country’s Prime Investigating Agency CBI and presented challan in the court of TADA.
In one more much publicized case of one lac US dollar which was registered by the Kud police and on March 23, 2002 and later on investigation was transferred to Crime Branch Jammu, Crime Branch after completion of the investigation presented challan in the Court of POTA against JKLF Supremo Mohd Yaseen Malik, Mustaq Ahmed Dar and Shamima alias Shazia alias Bitti. It is worthwhile to mentioned the cases of kidnapping of Dr. Rubiya Syed and killing of air-force personals are pending before the Court for the last more than 15 years as all the alleged accused involved in the cases are not appearing before the Court.
