| Lions Club collects 92 units of blood | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu August 23 Lions Club Jammu Royal in collaboration with Blood Transfusion Department Govt. Medical College organized a Blood Donation Camp at fruit market complex Narwal here today. Total 92 units of blood was collected from the volunteers. Ram Sahai President Jammu Chamber Of Commerce and Industries was the chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the camp. Dr. Kum Kum Sharma HOD Transfusion Medicine, GMC was also present on the occasion. Sanjeev Loni delivered the welcome address. Ram Sahai in his address lauded the efforts of the club for conducting such a camp and promised to extend all possible help to the club in organizing more such camps in participation with other associations and organizations associated with the chamber. Dr. Kum Kum Sharma also appreciated the conduct of blood donation camp by the Lions Club. She assured the volunteers that each voluntary donor will be given a blood insurance card which entitled him to get blood for him as well as for his family in case anywhere in India from any registered blood bank for a period of one year. She also said “All modern equipments and advance technology is being available at GMC where each unit of blood can be separated into its fractions of blood, hence for one unit four to five patients can simultaneously be helped thereby bridging the gap between increasing demand and limited supply.” The camp was conduct under the supervision of RD Gupta, President Lions Club Jammu Royal. Others who helped in the successful conduct of the camp were Darshan Kumar Suri, Rajesh Gupta, Sanjay Nagpal, Sanjeev Soni, Amit Jandyal, Parneesh Mahajan, Devinder Gupta, SK Gupta, Devinder Sethi, K.S. Sambyal and various members of fruit and vegetable market associations
