| CB presents charge sheet against accused in cheating case | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 5 Crime Branch Jammu today presented a charge sheet against Anil Kumar Kachroo son of Mohan Lal Kachroo of Malik Angan Fateh Kadal Srinagar at present Rajpaura Mangotrian Jammu in the court of City Judge Jammu in a cheating case. According to the reports the alleged accused, who was putting up at Jammu in a rented house prior to 1988, after the migration of KPs from Kashmir Valley managed in getting himself registered in the office of the Relief Commissioner Jammu on fake and fictitious documents without the knowledge of his mother for which he was not entitled. The said accused succeeded in getting relief of Rs.1,24,800 in cash and ration amounting to Rs.1,54,113 illegally thus a prima case of cheating was established after inquiry and accordingly a charge sheet was produced in the court for judicial determination. The said accused ration card holder did not turn up after February 1998 for getting ration from mini stadium when her mother who had actually migrated from Kashmir Valley in early 1990’s had applied for registration as Kashmiri migrant for two souls. On scrutiny of the records it was found that the alleged accused had fraudulently affixed the photograph of her mother in the ration card and got it attested by both the Zonal Officer and two other Gazetted Officers. The joint photographs along with her mother affixed in the ration card was categorically denied by the lady of her and maintained that she had not herself got registered anywhere. The detailed investigation of the case revealed that the accused had fraudulently managed to get a migrant ration card from the relief commissioner and thus causing huge loss to the state exchequer. |
