| President Cup: Sunny, Arun script Patel Club’s 124-run victory | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 5 Sunny Choudhary and Arun Sharma today guided Patel Cricket Club (PCC) to an impressive 124 runs victory over Srinagar Cricket Club (SCC) Srinagar in the ongoing President Cup Cricket Tournament organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Sciecne College Hostel Ground, here. Sunny hit a fine century (101) to help PCC pile up a challenging total of 285 for seven in the stipulated 40 overs while Arun gave an all round performance. Arun not only batted well but also clinched five wickets. In reply, SCC could not chase and lost all their wickets in the 39th over for 161 runs. Besides Sunny, Arun Sharma also played a nice innings of 39 runs. From SCC, Akhil and Yogesh were most successful bowlers with three wickets each. Batting second, Srinagar Club, lost a couple of early wickets which brought the team under pressure especially. In the process the whole side bowled out for partly 161 runs in 39 overs thereby lost the match by 124 runs Raj Kumar and Vicky played superbly and contributed 48 and 46 runs respectively. From PCC, Arun Sharma bowled extremely well taking away five wickets for 30 runs in eight overs. Rajesh took two for 23 in eight overs. Ashwani Sharma was scorer in today’s match.
