| Inclusion of music, fine arts in school curriculum sought | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 6 Jammu and Kashmir Music and Fine Arts Unemployed Graduate Association (JKMFAUGA) has stressed upon the government to include music and fine arts in the in school curriculum all across the state not only for the sake of music and art but it would create a source of livelihood for a large number of unemployed graduates in the field. Addressing Media persons in a press conference here on Saturday, President of Association, Ashwani Sharma said that despite being a part of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation Scheme (CCE), music and fine arts is not being taught in schools across the state. " This subject has been given its due importance and place only on marks cards where as in reality it is not being taught in schools across the state," Sharma said. Criticizing government for overlooking the matter, Sharma said that government had never been eager to look into the matter for the sake of art and music. " It is great irony that schools only award mark for this subject on marks cards without teaching and conducting any test or examination which is a mockery with arts and music," he added. He stressed upon the government to create posts of music and Arts teachers in all the schools and ensure that professionals for the very sake of Art and music are teaching the subjects. He also demanded PG department for Art and Music in the University of Jammu for the convenience of students of Art and Music. |
