Haryali projects aim at promoting ecology-Madan

Member Parliament Mr. Madan Lal Sharma has stressed the need for making people fully aware about development and welfare schemes so that they could play vigilant and participatory role in their fair execution at ground level. For the purpose he called for organizing sustained awareness campaign in far off area.
He was addressing at an awareness camp organized by IWDP Darhal on Saturday.
Sharma said as the people were the ultimate beneficiaries under every scheme, therefore, measures should be initiated in right earnest for ensuring their involvement in the developmental activities going on around. This, he said would ensure both transparency and quality in the implementation of development programme.
Twin Haryali projects taken up at a cost of Rs.1.08 crore each at Darhal and Budhal would protect ecology in these areas besides preventing soil erosion and floods, he said. These would also help in the rehabilitation of denuded forests and safeguarding water bodies to ensure perennial water flow in local streams of Darhal and Budhal, he added.
Sharma exhorted people to benefit from the schemes launched by the government for their welfare and also cooperator government functionaries in their fair execution. He said government and people need to work in perfect harmony to catapult development scenario to catch up with the progress and development of rich states of the country.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner K. L. Khajuria, ACD Subash Sharma and officers of IWDP were present on the occasion.
