| Peerzada inaugurates Book Exhibition | | | Early Times Reporter

Minister for Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed today inaugurated first of its kind, a 2-day Book Exhibition at Girls Higher Secondary School, Shastrinagar organized by Directorate of School Education, Jammu.
Book suppliers from within and outside the state had set up 22 stalls for exhibition in the school. Approximately 15,000 books on various subjects and streams were chosen, keeping in view the demand and requirement of current curriculum. People from various walks of life, including students, went round the exhibition and were enthusiastic in selecting their choicest books.
The minister evinced keen interest in the exhibition and lauded the efforts put in by the education department in providing an opportunity to the people in general and student community in particular to find a treasure of valuable books in the exhibition. He directed the officers concerned to similar exhibition in other districts and remote areas of the division so that more and more people would be benefited by this facility.
Director School Education, Mr. A. K. Raina and Chief Education Officer, Jammu Mr. Suresh accompanied the minister apprised him about the steps taken by the department for providing several facilities to the students at their door steps through a chain of government schools, functioning smoothly for the betterment of younger generations. |
