| T-20 Cricket: Luxmi Club in semis | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 7 Host Luxmi Cricket Club today qualified for the semi-finals beating City Cricket Club by five wickets in the ongoing Twenty-20 cricket tournament at Parade Ground, here. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, City Club set a target of 127 runs for the loss of eight wickets, which, in reply, LCC chased in mere 15.5 overs for the loss of five wickets. After the early dismissal of the openers, Sameer Singh (4) and Vishal Arora (2), Syed Asif and Shikhil Mahajan played some good cricket adding 29 and 22 runs respectively to the total. Raghav Singh and Anirudh added 17 runs each. From LCC, Surinder Gupta took two wickets whileAjit, Pardeep Bali, Sameer Khajuria shared a piece each. Batting second, LCC hardly find any difficulty in attaining their goal and reached the required total in 16th over with five wickets in hand. Neeraj Dogra remained the top scorer with 38 runs including eight boundaries while Pardeep Bali was quick in his stride contributing 17-ball 34 runs studded with two sixes and five fours. Sameer Khajuria and Ashok were other main scorers with 21 and 23 runs respectively. Ankush clinched three wickets for City Club while Shikhil took one. Neeraj Dogra was adjudged man of the match. FIXTURE: National Cricket Club (NCC) to take on Kathua Blue Cricket Club in the quarterfinals tomorrow. |
