Zargar inaugurates JWCCL
Says cooperative will empower the women

Minister for Agriculture Mr. Abdul Aziz Zargar today inaugurated first of its kind Jammu Women’s Credit Cooperative Ltd (JWCCL) at Marh in Jammu.
Registrar Cooperatives, Dr. G. N. Qasba, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Jammu Mrs. Shubra Sharma, who is also nodal officer of the cooperative, Chairman, (JWCCL), Smt. Kalalsh Devi, members of JWCCL and officers of the Cooperatives Department were present on the occasion..
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Zargar said that this cooperative would not only empower the women, but would also improve their economic condition. He said the aim of the cooperative movement was to ameliorate the economic condition of the farmers by way of providing timely loan facilities for fetching seeds, fertilizers and other agriculture inputs.
The minister said that present government is striving to strengthen the cooperative movement in the state and several steps are underway to revive the cooperative sector fully affected during turmoil.
Appreciating the role of the Registrar Cooperatives, Mr. Zargar said that officer had done a commendable job in reviving the cooperative sector in the state. He said that the cooperative would provide an opportunity to the members to get loan facility in one go without any delay.
Dr. Qasba while highlighting the advantages of the cooperative said that members of the cooperative could get hassle free loan facilities within their locality. Referring to JWCCL, he said that this will give a new status to the women in the society and can play a vital role in improving the economy of their families.
Chairman and Nodal Officer of JWCCL also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the aim of the cooperative. They said women can get an opportunity to work together with their husbands to built a prosperous and healthy family.
It was informed that initial membership of the cooperative is Rs.450 with a share capital of Rs.4.50 lakh and membership is increasing very fast.
