As the Opposition National Conference preferred to stay away from the Governor's address to the joint sitting of the legislature this morning, the four member brigade of Bhim Singh's Panther's Party stole the show inside the Hall.
As soon as the Governor entered the Central Hall the Panthers Party legislators started fuming and renting slogans against the government. There was quite an interesting scene as all Panthers Party legislators stood at their desks raising slogans.
However, ordered soon returned as every body stood up when the National Anthem started playing. Immediately after the National Anthem was over, the Panthers Party legislators got up started shouting to full of their vocal cards. They accused the government of failure and breakdown of constitutional machinery on many fronts.
"Your Excellency, dismiss this criminal government immediately", this is what Bhim Singh and Harsh Dev Singh were heard as saying. The security staff of the assembly stepped in and encircled the PP legislators preventing them from going to dais where the Governor was sitting. The Governor, in the meanwhile kept sitting.
They waved a file to the Governor and while ddressing him said that the government was reventing them hand over the memorandum to him. To this the Governor signaled to his aides that they should take the copy of memorandum. After this the security staff removed the all the Panthers Party legislators from the Central Hall.
The Panthers Party has alleged that its leader Bhim Singh was assaulted in the melee.
Harsh Dev Singh, Leader of the Panthers Legislature Party has demanded a probe by joint Legislature Committee into the happening on the floor of the Joint Legislature Session this morning where Prof. Bhim Singh, was allegedly "assaulted and manhandled" by the police and the Assembly staff on the direct instructions of the Chief Minister when he went to present a rejoinder of the JKNPP to the Governor, Lt. Gen.(retd.) Shri S.K. Sinha during the joint session of the Legislative Assembly and the Council.
In spite of a direction by the Governor to the Speaker of the Assembly to allow Prof. Bhim Singh, he was not only prevented from presenting the rejoinder but attacked, assaulted and literally bashed on the floor while the Governor was watching the entire episode.
All the five Legislators of the Panthers Party after Mr. Harsh Dev Singh finished addressing the rejoinder staged a strong walkout in protest against the corrupt, criminal and anti people government. |
