| KCCC beats DYSS XI by 9 wkts in President Cup | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 8 An affiliated unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) XI today lost to Krishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) by nine wickets in the ongoing President Cup cricket tournament to enter the quarterfinals at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, DYSS XI bowled out for a small total of 76 runs in 20.4 overs. In reply, it took KCCC just 8.5 overs to attain the goal making 79 runs for the loss of one wicket. Ajay Raina was top scorer with 12 runs while Ashok Kumar Dogra and Rajesh Dhar contributed 11 and eight runs respectively. Raman Dutta was most successful bowler from KCCC with four for 10 in six overs while Sameer Khajuria and Shashi Sharma shared two each. Later, KCCC reached the required goal in 8.5 overs making 79 runs with nine wickets in hand. Shashi Sharma and Anshuman Sharma contributed unbeaten 44 and 26 runs respectively. Farooq took the only wicket lost by KCCC. FIXTURE: Rehari Cricket Club to take on University of Jammu XI tomorrow at 9.30 am. |
