| Employees to ghaerao Civil Secretariat from Jan 29 to Feb 1 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 8 Holding the state government responsible for adopting callous and apathetic attitude towards their demands Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action committee on Tuesday announced that they will ghaerao the state assembly from January 29 to February 1 to press their demands. “We are feeling dejected with the state govt’s response as they have failed to even acknowledge our demands. Now we are not willing to initiate dialogue with the state government as long as it is not result oriented, Abdul Qayoom Wani, president of the employees joint action committee told reporters here during a press conference. He said the state government is misleading the employees and it appears that they are not at all serious towards their long pending demands. He said we are left with no alternative but to resort to path of agitation. He said thousands of employees from all over the state will converge here in the winter capital to participate in the four day long agitation. He said in September 2007 senior most state government officials participated in the meeting with them and promised favorable response but now more than 14 weeks have passed but there is no sign of any review meeting.The disgruntled employees are demanding enhancement of retirement age from 58 years to 60 years, confirmation of all adhoc, daily wagers, anganwari workers, contigent paid employees, educational volunteers, consolidated, contractual employees remaining migrant substitutes, Falah Aam teachers, employees of SP Dhar hospital, sopore, casual lobours,police personnel, consolidate employees in irrigation, mechnical irrigation and flood control department, electric department ,PHE and other departments, pensionary benefit to PSU employees, release of COLA outstanding for past 4 years and changing cola IN TO DA, reduction in qualifying service from 33 years to 21 years etc. |
