State BJP General Secretary & former MLA Bali Bhagat today hailed the decision of the state government to prepare separate envelope and calendars for Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh. Saying, this a step in the right direction. He said, this season will certainly redressed one of the grievances of the people of valley centric state government have never shown any regard to the sensitivities of the these two regions.
Bali Bhagat said, the state government should have taken this step much earlier considering the fact that the people of Jammu and Ladakh have always complaint that they have been ignored in all spheres during the past 60 years. He said the decision to bring out separate calendar is a testimony to the recognition of the fact that people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are culturally, politically, ethnically, historically and geographically different from one another. It is good omen that the authorities have ultimately realized this contradiction and taken a positive step to respect the sentiments of the people of these two regions.
At the same time, however, Bali Bhagat said that the publication of separate calendars is no solution to the problems being faced by the people of Jammu and Ladakh. He said what is needed today is a policy that solves the problems between Kashmir and Jammu and between the former Ladakh permanently and this is possible only if the state, which came into being in March 1846 by a quark of History, is reorganized on provincial basis so that each province gets the status of statehood within India and under the Indian constitution. He said such a reorganized has become all the more necessary in view of the highly discriminatory treatment accorded to Jammu and Ladakh by the Kashmiri dominated state administration.
Bali Bhagat expressed the hope that the authorities would taken all the necessary.
