Vacated shop restored to shopkeeper.
8/23/2006 10:53:39 PM
Jammu August23:
Last night some people in the Purani Mandi area forcibly vacated a shop namely New Fashion Corner, at Old Hospital Road, by throwing out all the belongings of the shopkeeper.
According to reports, some people during the night hours came at the shop and started throwing out the goods outside the shop, over which the shopkeeper, Romesh Padah and his son, Nitin Padah resisted and confronted with them.
According to some local shopkeepers of the area, Romesh has been running this shop for the last 40 years which he had hired on rent, from the owner of the shop, Desh Bandu, who for the last many years had been saying him to vacate the shop.
Reacting over this incident, the shopkeepers in the proximity, kept their shops closed for some hours and staged a protest demonstration. They demanded for the arrest of people involved in forcible vacating the shop.
Later on police pacified the agitated shopkeepers and restored possession to the shopkeeper.
