CB presents charge sheet against two accused
Fictitious Finance Co dupes people

Establishing prima facie case of cheating against two accused persons for floating a fictitious company without proper registration thereby duping the people of their hard earned money, the Crime Branch presented a charge sheet of the case before the court of law for judicial determination.
One Mohan Lal Sharma son of Tej Ram resident of Badyal Brahmana RS Pura registered a complaint with the Crime Branch wherein it was alleged that he was motivated by Behari Lal son of Hans Raj of ward No 5 RS Pura and Bhagwan Dass son of Raj Ram of Kotrana Kalan RS Pura, who were running a finance company namely Maha Bhawani Finance Corporation to deposit his hard earned with the said Finance company. Since the accused were well known to the complainant and lured by the offer of handsome returns, the complainant accordingly deposited Rs.45000 in thee installments in the said company. On maturity the complainant approached the company managements to refund his money, which they ignored in spite of repeated requests made by the complainant. On receipt of this complainant a preliminary enquiry was initiated into the matter which culminated in registration of a formal case FIR NO 01/2006 u/s 406,420 RPC at Police station Crime Branch Jammu for in depth investigation, a spokesman of Crime and Railways said.
During the course of investigation, the spokesman said, the Crime Branch seized the relevant records including original receipts and examined the persons acquainted with the facts of the case. During investigation it was established that accused persons had floated the said finance company without proper registration and became its sole proprietor. It further emerged during investigation that both the accused persons had opened joint account in Citizens Cooperative Bank RS Pura in 1995 on the name of Maha Bhawani Finance Corporation, which they closed later on.
On the basis of investigation conducted prima facie case of cheating was made out against the accused persons and charge sheet of the case was produced before the court for judicial determination, the spokesman added.
