Teachers hold protest, demand cash in lieu of EL

To press their demands, including cash in lieu of earned leave benefit due to curtailment of winter vacations, bringing at par the Masters with Section Officers and AAO’s, who have been put in the grade of 7450-11500 w.e.f January 1, 1996, enhancement of ReTs pay to minimum of the basic pay of teacher and enhancing the retirement age to 60 years, thousands of teachers under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum held a protest demonstration in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office here today.
Voicing their deep concern over the apathetic attitude of the state government towards the teachers, the protestors impressed upon the authorities to concede the just and genuine demands of the teaching community which have been hanging fire since long.
Among others present on the occasion were Abdul Qayoom, Wani, Ganesh Khajuria, Bhupinder Shastri, Ghulam Rasool Bhat. Yog Raj Slathia, Rajinder Gupta, Kalip Bakshi, Sushil Pawar, Gopal Singh Manohar Singh, Ashok Raina, Charan Dass and Vishwamitrter Sharma.
