Mumbai, Aug 23 : The Indian squads for next month's triangular series in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the subsequent ICC Champions Trophy in October-November would be chosen by the national selectors in Mumbai on September 3.
Informing this here today, Indian cricket board secretary Niranjan Shah said the squad for the September 12-24 tri-nation event in South East Asia, featuring Australia and the West Indies as the two other two teams, may consist of 15 players.
"We may select 15 players for the triangular series," Shah said, but the final team for the October 7-November 5 Champions Trophy, to be played at home, can consist of 14 players as per regulations laid down by the International Cricket Council.
Already all the participating teams in the Mini World Cup have declared their probables list which needs to be pruned down to 14 by September 7, as per the guidelnes for the tournament.
Shah said he is set to discuss the tune up of the Rahul Dravid-led Indian team for the Malaysia tri-series with the captain and coach Greg Chappell tomorrow.
"I also have to talk to cricket authorities in Chennai and Bangalore before deciding on where to have the preparatory schedule for the team," Shah explained.
The Indian squad returned home a few days ago from the ill-fated tour of Sri Lanka which was beset by rain and security concerns following a bomb blast in Colombo.
It has played very little competitive cricket at the internatonal level after clinching the four-Test series in the West Indies in the first week of July.
