| Five persons arrested, suspected heroine, brown sugar recovered | | | Early Times Reporter

Doda Police today arrested five suspects involved in drug trafficking and recovered one kilogram of suspected heroine, 100 gms brown sugar and 20 pouches of illicit liquor during raids conducted at different places in the district.
A police spokesman said that acting on specific information that some persons who are in possession of heroine are roaming in suspicious condition in Pul Doda and they are looking for some customer, a trap was laid by a police party and all the five accused persons were arrested and one Kg suspected heroine was recovered from their possession.
The spokesman further said that the accused were trying to cheat some persons by selling it as heroine but the substance recovered from their possession is suspected heroine. However, the samples of the same are being sent to FSL for chemical analysis, the spokesman said adding that the accused have been put to sustained questioning to know about their other associates and activities.
Police also conducted a raid in the town and recovered 100 gms of suspected brown sugar while in another such raid police recovered 20 pouches of illicit liquor weighing 250 ml each from the shop of one person namely Bittu Kumar, a meat seller at Chinta. The accused who is reportedly absconding is being arrested shortly, the spokesman said and added that a formal case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is going on. |
