School children offers special prayers

About 200 students drawn from various schools of the city offered special prayers for those persons who last their lives during the past year. Students also prayed for the welfare of the country and maintaince of brotherhood, religions tolerance etc.
On the occasion minister for industries of commerce Nawang Rigzin Jora was the chief guest, while minister for school education Ghulam Mohammed Saroori was guest of honour. A message from R&B minister Gharu Ram was read out on the occasion.
The prayer meeting was held by Rev. Sohan Lal, Priest St. Paul’s Church residency road. Earlier Sohan Lal was awarded Gandhian workers medal by minister Rigzin. Speaking on the occasion Rigzin said spiritual side of human being needs nurturing and guidance which is the basic duty of all religions to give sustenance and succor for our spiritual growth. He on the occasion blessed the children. Among other who attended the function were Rajinder Shastri, Sana-Ullah Tamiri, Gurcharan Singh, ex MLC, S.M. Gill and Nasreen Khan.
