Country Inns & Suites By Carlson Vaishnodevi, Katra today announced its plans of refurbishing the hotel by adding an exclusive suite wing comprising of Nine Deluxe Suites. This expansion is phased over the next four months and will increase the total room capacity to 77.
Mr.Suresh Khanna, General Manager, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson Katra said, ‘The expansion has been undertaken to facilitate client requests for suite facilities. These new deluxe suites will have plasma TVs with added facilities and will be priced at approximately 150 USD. We will also be increasing the capacity of the conference to 250 pax’.
The expansion will also see MICE getting a face lift due to increasing demand of combining residential conferences and seminars with darshans of Mata Vaishnodevi. The pool that was added to the property in May 2007 will soon have facility of regulated temperature. Two more rooms will be added to already existing two treatment rooms at the Sansha Spa.
Presently, the hotel has 67 luxurious guest rooms and one Presidential Suite that features country-style décor. All rooms have high-speed Internet access, a 21” TV and DVD player, International Direct Dialling telephones amongst other features. Select rooms ensure a mesmerising view of the shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi while others allow you to view the scenic landscape of the region.
The hotel also provides the business traveller with several options. The Amphitheater can accommodate more than 500 people. Shalimar, the indoor conference hall that has the capacity to accommodate 70 people, offers full conference facilities including audio/ visual equipment and secretarial services.
A unique feature of the property is that only vegetarian food is served. Though there is no official restriction on serving non-vegetarian cuisine but keeping the sanctity of the sacred shrine, the hotel offers only vegetarian organic cuisines that are cultivated at the in-house kitchen garden. The hotel has one restaurant, The Maple multi-cuisine restaurant that offers 24/7 service and complimentary breakfast, and a tea-shop. The Trikuta Tea Lounge overlooking the Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine serves both tea, coffee.
