| Mandeep strikes twice to guide Khalsa to hockey final | | | Early Times Reporter

Making it into the final today, Khalsa Club shall take on Akali Kour Singh Club for the title clash of State Heros Cup hockey tournament tomorrow at K K Hakhu Stadium, here.
In the second semi-final played this afternoon, sailing on the superb performance of international player, Mandeep Singh, Khalsa Club registered a 3-1 victory over Zorawar Club.
Both sides played equally good game but the only difference was Mandeep, who provided to be a true finisher for Khalsa Club striking in the 57th and 59th minute. Mandeep’s heroic performance came soon after Zorawar Singh leveled the score 1-1 in the 55th minute through Jaspreet Singh.
Earlier, Khalsa Club took an early lead with Rajinder Singh sounding the board in the 7th minute on a penalty corner and remained their till the 55th minute of the 70-minute game.
Today’s semi-final was officiated by Jagjit Singh, Harmanan Singh, Motinder Pal Singh and Mukesh Kumar. |
