| Theatre workshop begins at GCW Gandhi Nagar | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 12 A theatre workshop organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with National School of Drama, New Delhi was today inaugurated by Minister for Social Welfare Abdul Gani Vakil at Government College of Women Gandhinagar. Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi and Principal Government College of Women Gandhinagar Jammu Prof. Veena Gupta were present on the occasion. . Vakil while speaking on the occasion said that during last two years Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as a better platform for cultural activities. It is a matter of great satisfaction for the entire artist community and people of the State that State's art is now being appreciated nationally and internationally. Minister further mentioned about today's theatre workshop and hoped that the workshop would see many theatre legends. In his inaugural remarks, Dr. Masoodi said that one month theatre workshop is also going on at Kala Kendra under the supervision of renowned theatrist and camp director Mushtak Kak. He said that Sangeet Natak Academy has been kind enough to collaborate with Cultural Academy to provide Jammu national recognition in theatre. He also hoped that workshop at Government College for Women Gandhinagar would hunt the hidden talent among the youngsters. In the inaugural function the College students presented Vandana in the opening. Prof. Veena Gupta presented vote of thanks. The teachers, staff and large number of students attended the inaugural function. |
