| Youth motivated to join Army | | ‘Know your Army’ exhibition draws large crowds | | Early Times Reporter

Rahul and Gaurav students of class 8th are fond of playing video games and watching action movies but on Sunday when they first saw the real war video at the ‘Know your Army’ Exhibition in Satwari they could not keep their eyes away from the screen for even a single second and decided to join the army after competing their school education.
“We could not take our eyes off the large screen for even one second and were deeply engrossed in the war video. It was so real and we were really motivated to join the army now after we complete our school education’’. Rahul said, we focused our eyes on troop movement and gun ships bombarding enemy targets, after watching first war video. Rahul and Gaurav were not the only ones who were motivated by the army men present on the occasion to join the armed forces. Large number of school children and young enthusiasts made a beeline at the ‘know your army exhibition and were introduced to modern weaponry put to exquisite display at Satwari. The exhibition was inaugurated by Major General Sanjeev Loomba, GOC Tiger Division.
Several other people including families of defence personnel and local residents made a beeline to the motivation stalls specially set up for youth and motivated them to join the armed forces.
The aim of the exhibition was to showcase the Army to the general public and to establish a chord with the masses. The highlight of the exhibition was the display of an astounding array of weaponry and special military equipment including tanks and artillery guns. In addition to this the army band belted out popular martial tunes and mellifluous numbers, which kept the people thoroughly enthralled.
Speaking to the large turnout of inquisitive media persons, Major General Sanjeev Loomba, GOC Tiger Division asserted that the Army is well equipped to synergies its action to ensure resounding success in war. The General further added that the exhibition is a lifetime experience for people who normally do not have access to see such weapons from close quarters.
The large turnout of the public proved beyond an iota of doubt that the “Know your Army” exhibition was not only a grand success, but also served the purpose of showcasing the army to the general public. |
