| Omi Khajuria distributes sewing machines | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 13 JMC Corporator of BJP from ward No. 65, Barnai-Dharmaal, Omi Khajuira, on the eve of Lohri festival, today distributed ten sewing machines amongst the poor and needy women of the area. These sewing machines were made available by Social Justice Committee of the Jammu Municipal Corporation to the Corporator. Khajuria, while greeting the people of his ward on Lohri, said that his ward is spread over a large area with more than half of the population living Below Poverty Line and needs financial aid in order to earn their livelihood. He said his ward needs more and more funds for developmental works. He said that after being elected to the JMC, he did work a lot for its development and mitigating the sufferings of the people but still more remains to be done. He assured the people of his ward that he would keep on working for the mitigation of their problems. Akhnor District President Col. Uttam Singh, District General Secretary Bodh Raj, Mandal President Joginder Singh Chib and Ward President Balbir Singh Manhas, Shakti Devi and Kailash were prominent among those present on the occasion. The women amongst whom the sewing machines were distributed were Sushma Devi, Renu Devi, Lalita Devi, Sushma Rani, Rajni Devi, Ruby Sharma, Darshana Devi, Binakshi Devi, Soma Devi and Asha Devi. |
