| Govt. should perform its obligatory duty : Jan | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 13 In a statement issued here today, Aijaz Jan, Provincial Secretary J&K Youth National Conference has impressed upon the state government to come to the rescue of the people of the border areas of Poonch especially Sawjian Gagrian and Loran, where the inhabitants are facing hardships after the recent snow fall. He said the electricity has been snapped in the area for the last many days and drinking water is also not available to them. Youth NC leader demanded that immediate measures be taken up to restore electricity in the area and provision for adequate drinking water be made. He said that government has not provided ration and other essential commodities in these areas this year which is being provide earlier before the onset of winter season and snow fall. Youth National Conference leader demanded that adequate ration and other essential commodities be provided to these remote border areas on war footing, as in absence of ration and other basic essential commodities during the acute winter season and snow fall there will be starvation like situation. The transport facility for Sawjian , Gagrian and Loran has been stopped for the last few days. Aijaz Jan demanded that immediate steps be taken to clear the snow from the road for the smooth plying of vehicles and transport facility be restored immediately. Government should not turn a blind eye towards the problems which are being faced by the people of the Poonch and should take concrete immediate effective steps in this regard, he said. |
