| Vested interests dampens ardor, enthusiasm of SVO | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 13 While, Chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has given clarion call to make J&K a corruption free state by giving teeth to State Vigilance Organization (SVO) which managed a commendable job to come to expectations of Chief minister, some vested interest elements are putting spoke in the wheels of the organization, it has been learnt. According to the sources, it is just dampening the spirits of the enthusiasm from the concerned officials when their investigating reports simply are put aside due to the red-tapism in the government set up in the civil secretariat. There goes an old saying ‘Corruption is an assault on one’s consciousness’ but in the modern times it has somehow repealed as a habit of taking bribes and seeking favours. It has become very common in the modern society these days in our state and those who work to stand against the challenge are brushed aside at the behest of certain vested interest persons holding important positions, said some associated with the said organization. ‘People holding important positions have developed inconsiderateness to their conscience. They pretend everything is alright and sideling law of action and its reaction, sources in department said and al this is hampering the commendable, dedicated and devoted job from the SVO.’ Highly placed sources lamented that the investigation reports related to particular cases often face deliberate delays when submitted to the Civil Secretariat where the files often go biting dust and making the SVO to face the criticism for the said delay in justice to the complainants. Sources further maintained that masses in general only feel once they had approached SVO the things will be settled but they in fact are ignorant to the ground realities that the reports of the SVO are to be submitted in Civil Secretariat where these often meet a dead end just because of the certain vested interested elements resulting the SVO to face criticism despite doing its commendable job all the time in most of the cases referred to the said organization. After the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad took the charge of the state he announced his war against the rampant corruption prevalent in the government set up and other organizations. However, all this proved mere hollow slogans with corruption rampant and as earlier continued to justify the state as second most corrupt state. |
