| TADA Court awards 31 years imprisonment to Pak National | | Involved in planting bomb at coffee house | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 14 Presiding Officer TADA/POTA Court, Jammu, Mr. Sanjay Gupta awarded 31 years imprisonment to Sonaullah, a Pak national, against whom the case was established by the prosecution. According to the police case, the accused, a Pak National terrorist belonging to ISI of Pakistan, crossed the border and came from Pakistan to India and brought explosive substance on March 27, 1995 in order to create terror with criminal intention to kill people in the state and planted a bomb at coffee house (presently Press Club Jammu). Although no one was killed or injured in the blast, however, the property suffered damages. After hearing both the sides and keeping in view the circumstances of the case, the Court held the accused guilty and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for seven years u/s 3 TADA and further seven years RI u/s 4 TADA, apart from seven years imprisonment u/s ESA, five years u/s 5 of ESA Act and another five years u/s 14 Foreign Act. However, the Court clarified that all the sentences shall run concurrently. JNF |
