| Clerical employees’ strike on Jan 16 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 14 The clerical staff of various departments has decided to go off work on January 16 in protest against what it calls the callous attitude of the Government regarding removal of anomalies in their pay scales. The J&K all departments clerical staff association led by Ram Kumar Sharma in a press conference here today condemned the attitude of the state Government towards the clerical staff and said that the staff in Jammu and Kashmir will stage a one day peace protest at their respective District head quarters to highlight their demand. He said that the clerical staff is facing severe problems as their is no change in their pay scales for past several years. He said that the Govt. is doing an open injustice as the state Government recently removed pay anomalies of teachers,pharmacists,section officers,patwaries,personal assistants ,junior instructors and Asst.Accounts officers but on the other hand the junior assistants,senior assistants,head assistants and junior scale stenographers have been out rightly ignored and discriminated. Sharma said that besides removal of anomalies their should be an experience based promotion schemes in the departments and the exam based process of promotion should be changed. He said that the clerical staff are being regularly discriminated by state Government and the association will not tolerate this step-motherly attitude being given to them. Sharma said that the association would launch an agitation if the Government did not take an immediate steps for redressing their grievances and discrimination. |
