| Two LeT militants eliminated in separate encounters | | | Early Times Reporter

Two hardcore militants of LeT outfit were gunned down at separate encounters in Doda district today.
Acting on a tip off regarding presence of militants in Bansal Kiya area of Doda district, a joint search operation was launched by the Police party and 8 RR. During the search, militants opened indiscriminate firing on the operation party which was effectively replied leading to an encounter in which one militant of LeT militant was killed. From the pocket diary and other incriminating documents recovered from the slain militant, his identify has been established as Yasin Malik resident of Keshwan. One .303 rifle has also been recovered from the possession of the slain ultra.
In another such operation the forces laid a cordon around a militant’s hideout in Shounsh nallah in Doda district to apprehend the ultra who ignoring the call for surrender opened indiscriminate firing on the search party. The security forces after narrowing down the cordon around the hide out succeeded in eliminating the LeT militant whose identity has been established as Nazir Ahmed code Abu Sofian son of Abdul Rashid of Joura Thatri. During the search, the forces recovered one AK 47 rifle with two magazines and one grenade from the encounter site and the search operation was still on when reports last came in. |
