Youth Wing All India Kashmiri Samaj (YWAIKS) today denied the report published in a section of press that agitating Kashmiri Pandits, who are on hunger strike at Relief Commissioner’s office here, have called off their strike
Describing the report as malicious and far from truth, R K Bhat President of YWAIKS has said that ‘ we have firm faith and trust in the print media, who fight for the downtrodden and suppressed like us, whose one point demand of releasing relief benefits to bifurcated ration card holders, would continue to highlight the problems of the depressed community.
‘Publication of such unfounded reports are bound to damage the justified and genuine cause of the community’, Bhat said in a hand out.
In the meantime, the Samaj President said that the hunger strike continued on the 35th day today.
Addressing a large gathering, Bhat said that some vested interests are hell bent to sabotage the strike and called for focusing the attention on the just demand of release of benefits to the bifurcated families.
S N Dhar, P L Badgami, Raj Nath Raina, K L Dhar, Mohan Lal Lolabi, Chuni Lal, D N Kissu, Phoola Kaul, Kashi Nath and S P Bhat, who also addressed the gathering, reiterated their support and cooperation to this cause of the community and also criticized callous attitude of the government in resolving their genuine demand and sought Chief Minister’s personal intervention in the matter. ‘The on going struggle is for survival of the educated unemployed youth of the community’, they maintained.
In the meanwhile, Ajay Bharti President Displaced Hindu Youth Forum has disowned the statement attributed to him in the report that the decision of calling off the strike has come following his persuasion and maintained that his Forum fully supports the cause of the KP youth who are on strike. He said there seems to be a conspiracy behind the move by some interests.
