| Chib pays tributes to Rajesh Kumar | | | Early Times Reporter R.S. Pura | Jan 14 The ‘Shahidi Diwas’ of Shahaad Rajesh Kumar of SS Rashtriya Rifles was observed at village Shalesar in which a large number of people participated. Shaheed Rajesh Kumar laid down his life in 2003 while fighting with other Rashtriya Rifle personnel at Sandipore (Kashmir) in counter insurgency operation Shaheed Rajesh Kumar has left behind his father, mother and four sisters and he was the only son of his father. While paying tributes to the Martyr MLC, R.S. Chib said that it is a matter of pride for the people of that Tansil. Chib said that their sons lay down for the motherland and their sacrifice will always be remembered by the country-man and he appealed to the younger generation to drawn inspiration from his martydom and some forward to join the defence forces and serve the country. He also applauded the role of security forces who have sacrificed thousand of officers and Jawans while fighting against Pakistan sponsored militancy. Chib in his capacity as Member of the Rajya Sainik Board demanded that a separated department of personnel for the defence personel both serving and retired may be created in order to eoaliorate their sufferings. T.S. Bajwa, Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) also paid rich tributes to the martyrs and expressed his sympathies with the family of Shaheed Rajesh Kumar. The others who spoke on the occasion include, Garib Singh, Qasbir Singh Lucky, Mohinder Singh. |
