| 30 Madrassa students admitted for food poisoning | | | Early Times Reporter Mendhar | Jan 14 At least thirty students of Islamia Madrasia Chotay Shah Badshah in Mendhar were admitted in Sub district Hospital when after they suffered from food poisoning. Informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir that at least thirty children were admitted in SDH Mendhar after they complain of vomiting and abdomen pain. The children were presently undergoing religious teaching at a renowned Islamic Madrassa at Saki Maida, around 4 kilometers from here, where they were allegedly provided with sub-standard food. Students - mostly from Rajouri and Poonch districts - today complained of vomiting and abdomen pain with dysentery following which they were admitted in sub-district hospital Mendhar. Dr Parvaiz Khan, incharge BMO Mendhar confirmed NAK that all the children were suffering from food poisoning. "We have admitted them but condition of all of them is stable", he said. The Madrassa has a total strength of fourty students, most of whom belong to far flung areas of the twin districts. People blamed the Madrassa management for poor sanitation and supplying sub-standard food material to the students. |
