| HC keeps SAC recommendations in abeyance | | Issues notices to Commission, Government | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Jan 15 Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain today, in a petition filed by the then Commissioner/ Secretary Animal Husbandry Dr. Mohd Deen and Dr. Satvir Gupta the then Director Sheep Husbandry, has kept in abeyance the order passed by J&K State Accountability Commission on December 20, 2007 recommending stern action against both the petitioners including forfeiture of pensionary benefits and also recovery of Rs 5 lakhs from the petitioners. Justice Hussain, after hearing Sr. Adv DC Raina appearing for the petitioners, admitted the petition and issued notice to Dr. Rehmat-ullah Khoura (complainant), State Accountability Commission through its Registrar and State of J&K through Chief Secretary for filling counter within four weeks. Adv SS Ahmed accepted notice on behalf of the complainant. On a complaint, the SAC had passed order on December 20, 2007, recommending stern action against two top bureaucrats, who had gone to Australia for purchase of Rams and spent Rs 5 lakhs. The action included forfeiture of the pensionary benefits and recovery of Rs 5 laks from the petitioners from their personal properties in equal shares. JNF |
