| Chrar deputation calls on Mufti, demands Degree College | | | Early Times Reporter

A deputation from Charar-e-Sharief headed by Mirwaiz Amir-ud-Din Shah called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Patron here today to seek his intervention in redressing the grievances of the area.
Demanding setting of a Degree College at Charar-e-Sharief, the deputation said that it is a long-pending demand of the area given its centrality and the catchments spread over a hundreds of villages and hamlets. The deputation said as the Government has already embarked upon a massive expansion program of educational facilities in the State, denying a Degree College to Charar-e-Sharief is a matter of great concern and injustice for the area. They urged the PDP Patron to use his good offices in ensuring establishment of a Degree College at Charar-e-Sharief on priority.
The deputation also demanded speeding up the upgradation of ADB funded Srinagar-Charar-e-Sharief road for which Rs 14 Cr have been earmarked. They said given the importance of this vital road, the upgradation work must be executed on war-footing.
The PDP Patron assured the deputation their demands would be taken up for redressel at the appropriate level. |
